April Meeting

We gathered at the Missouri Botanical Garden for a tour of the bulb gardens with Jason Delaney. As always, it was a spectacular tour. Pictures speak louder than words, so I will try to get some photos posted on this site. Twelve of the 13 divisions of daffodils are represented in this bulb garden and everyone found a favorite. Although daffodils and tulips dominate the scene this time of year, the hundreds of other bulbs, perennials, shrubs and trees add to the beauty. The combinations of color and plant material seem so perfectly suited. Jason explained that sometimes his plans don't always work out--what was planted is not what the label described and what emerges may end up looking a bit weird. Of course, it's all up to personal preference. Whether you prefer bold and vibrant or pale and delicate, you will find what you like. We certainly did.
